This semester has been a whirlwind for me in regards to all dimensions of the wellness wheel. My mental health has been through a ringer this year, and I can honestly say I am ready for the semester to be over. This semester has been a memorable one for me, especially because of the potential benefits to my artistic career. I have participated in my first art show at the Spiers Gallery in Brevard North Carolina. I had the wonderful opportunity to submit an amazing 10 pieces for show during the "Alone Together" exhibit. The focus of the show was to show the amazing talent and resiliency the students have by showing their works completed during the stay at home order of 2020. Secondly, one of my works from the show "My Mind" was selected to be showcased in the Chiaroscuro, Brevard College's literary journal the 2020-21 edition. I completed one sculpture this semester using soap stone, a drill, and other carving utensils. I am currently working on another sculpture, as my final project for my Ceramics class. Needless to say, this semester has been fast paced, and I felt like I could hardly keep up. As finals loom around the corner, I am looking forward to rest, and I cannot wait to move fully back into my home studio.
